Privacy

Last updated 10 September 2026. Plain version: we collect the minimum needed to run the product, we do not sell anything to anyone, and you can have it all deleted by sending one email.

Who we are

A10X is operated by Armando Gonzalez. Contact for any privacy request: hello@a10x.dev. We answer within 30 days.

What we collect

If you just browse: anonymous product analytics. Pages viewed, clicks on buttons and links, approximate location derived from IP at country and city level, device type, browser, and referring site. This is not tied to a name until you give us one.

If you give us your email: your email address, the page you gave it on, and the emails we later send you and whether they were opened.

If you run a practice case: the answer you type, so it can be graded. Answers are sent to our grading model and returned to you. We do not use your answers to train any model.

If you become a member: your email, subscription status, and payment records. Card numbers never touch our servers. Stripe handles payment and we only see the result.

We do not run session recording, we do not record your screen, and we do not read your keystrokes.

Why we collect it

To deliver what you asked for (grade a case, send a briefing, give you member access), to bill correctly, and to understand which parts of the product work. Under GDPR our bases are contract (delivering the product you paid for), legitimate interest (basic product analytics and security), and consent (marketing email, which you gave by submitting the form and can withdraw with one click).

If you ask to be presented for a job

Placement is opt-in and it is the one place where your data leaves our processors and reaches another company. If you fill in the profile on /placement we collect what an employer has to know before an interview: your name, email, LinkedIn, location, years of engineering experience, whether you can work in the US without sponsorship, target salary, availability, and anything you write in the free-text box. We also attach the score and review from any practice case you have run with us.

We do not send any of it to a company until you say yes to that specific company. We ask you by email naming the employer and the role, and only then do we share your profile and your graded review. A company we introduce you to is a separate controller and handles your data under its own policy, not ours. We never charge you: the employer pays a fee if they hire you, which is also why we never sell or list candidate data to anyone else.

We keep a placement profile for as long as you want to be considered. Tell us to stop at hello@a10x.dev and we delete it, and that does not affect anything else you have with us. We record the moment you ticked the consent box, because that timestamp is the lawful basis for holding the profile at all.

Who processes it

  • Vercel hosting and delivery.
  • PostHog (US cloud) product analytics.
  • Stripe payments and subscription records.
  • Resend transactional and briefing email.
  • Anthropic grading of practice cases and the coach.
  • Neon (US) our database: member progress, coach threads, graded reviews, and placement profiles.
  • Google Ads conversion measurement when we run ads.

Each is an independent processor with its own terms. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we have never done so.

Where it goes

Our processors are US based, so data about EU and UK visitors is transferred to the United States. Those transfers rely on the processors' standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Analytics: retained by PostHog on its default retention. Email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Coach threads and graded reviews: kept while you are a member so your work is there when you come back, and deleted when you ask. Payment records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or California you can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion, or a stop to marketing. Everyone else gets the same treatment because running two standards is not worth it. Email hello@a10x.dev and say what you want. Every marketing email also has a one-click unsubscribe.

Cookies and browser storage

We use first-party cookies for analytics and, when ads are running, a Google Ads conversion cookie. No advertising profile is built about you on this site and there are no third-party ad networks embedded here.

Members who sign in get two more, both first-party and neither used for advertising. A session cookie holds your email address and an expiry, signed by us so it cannot be altered; it is marked HttpOnly, so no script on the page can read it, and it lasts 30 days. Alongside it sits a second cookie containing only the character "1", which tells pages like the job board that this browser is signed in without exposing who you are. Signing out deletes both immediately, and so does clearing your browser data.

Members: your sprint progress and your coach threads, including anything you paste for a review and the graded reply, are saved in our database so they follow you to any browser you sign in on, and a copy is kept in your browser's local storage so a refresh never waits on the network. Every graded reply is also recorded so we can show your past work back to you and check the grader. Your timed case rounds stay in your browser only. Clearing your browser data deletes the local copy; email hello@a10x.dev and we delete the database copy.

The free case works the same way: what you write and the graded review you get back are kept in your own browser so a refresh or a closed tab does not destroy an hour of work. Your email address is deliberately not stored there. An unfinished free case is dropped after a day; a graded one stays until you clear your browser data.

Children

A10X is for working engineers. It is not directed at anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and, for anything material, email members directly.
