  • Ode formally launched July 15, 2026, introduced by Anthropic, Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, with Goldman Sachs, General Atlantic, Leonard Green, Apollo, GIC and Sequoia in the consortium. It is led by CEO Chris Taylor and CTO Eddie Siegel, the co-founders of Fractional AI, acquired in May 2026.
  • Hiring runs on Ashby: 11 live requisitions as of 2026-08-14, all on-site 4 days a week with Fridays remote. The company lists offices in San Francisco, New York, Raleigh-Durham and Dubai; every current requisition is located in SF, NY or Raleigh-Durham. No remote reqs exist.
  • Published comp on its own board: Staff Software Engineer $275K-$400K plus equity. Forward Deployed Product Manager $200K-$275K. Principal, AI Transformation $300K-$600K. Associate Principal $200K-$250K. Special Projects $150K-$240K.
  • The delivery unit is a small pod: "tight-knit teams of engineers working on a single project together", typically 2 to 5 engineers and a PM. Staff engineers spend "~75% of your time in code and 25% working directly with clients, often their CTOs".
  • Cadence, in its own words: "you will work on one product every quarter" and "a typical engineer here ships two to three products per year".
  • Fractional AI's interview loop, published May 2024 by the man who is now Ode's CTO: two hands-on coding sessions where ChatGPT is allowed and Copilot is banned, because they want to watch you formulate queries and analyze the responses. Plus a whiteboard session framed as a client call. No take-home.
  • Ode runs same-day panel onsites for team hires: it hires intact engineering teams of 2 to 5 through a Bring Your Own Team track, one interview process, simultaneous individual offers.
  • Named partnerships since launch: Baker Tilly (a 50,000-person advisory network) and LogicGate (an AI GRC platform that wants agentic features shipped faster than its own roadmap allows).

  • Ode describes its work as partnering "closely with CEOs" on "the highest priority AI initiatives", positioning production systems over demos.
  • Its engineering philosophy, from its own job descriptions: "applying standard software engineering discipline to the non-deterministic world of frontier AI... design systems around testable hypotheses, curate durable data sets, and ensure what we ship keeps working long after we've handed it over". One of its listed values is literally "Overuse AI".
  • Fabius (YC W23) joined as an intact team through the Bring Your Own Team track in 2026, per Ode's own posting.
  • Fractional AI's pre-acquisition case studies are still live: Zapier (eval suite, hallucinations down 80%+), Airbyte (AI connector builder), Cando Rail (voice safety-assessment agent).
REPORTED · candidates or press describe it secondhand
  • Press reports the venture at a $1.5B valuation with roughly $300M commitments each from Anthropic, Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman. That is a reported valuation, not disclosed capital; Ode itself publishes no number.
  • Roughly 100 engineers, more than half former founders. Claude-first, but will use rival models when a customer needs them.
  • The "mirrors Palantir's forward-deployment model" framing you may have read is analyst language. Ode's own materials never mention Palantir and use "forward deployed" only in one job title.

What nobody outside can know yet

  • Ode's post-acquisition loop is unpublished. The two-coding-sessions, AI-allowed, client-call-whiteboard process is Fractional AI's published 2024 process. Carryover is likely (same CTO, same delivery team, and a company value that says "Overuse AI") but it is an inference and we tag it as one.
  • No engagement length is published; "one product every quarter" is the closest primary signal. No post-launch customer outcome metrics exist yet. Comp is unpublished for three of the eleven roles.
  • No candidate interview report for Ode or Fractional AI exists on Blind, Reddit or HN as of 2026-08-14. You would be among the first loops through, which is exactly why the prep edge exists.
